Percocet is a combination of two other drugs, acetaminophen, and oxycodone. 

Percocet treats mild to severe treatment. 

This drug requires special care and monitoring.

How to take Percocet?

Swallow this medicine with plenty of water.

Take this medicine with or without food. 

If you have an upset stomach, then take this medicine with food or milk. 

Take this medicine at regular intervals if you have nausea while in medications, then rest for 1-2 hours with little head movement. 

Do not overdose on this medicine. This medicine can cause serious side effects on the body.

The patients taking the liquid form of this medicine should take proper measurements of these medicines. Do not take the liquid form of these medicines without measure. The patients take doses according to the severity of the pain.

Take medicines on the first sign of pain; if your pain worsens, these medicines will not affect the body.

If you have the urge to take this medicine, do not take this medicine without a recommendation from the doctor.

Percocet dosage

The Percocet dosage depends on many factors. The doctors recommend the dose according to the factors that include

  • Age of the patient 
  • Severity or suffering that the patient is facing
  • Medical history that can interact with the body
  • Allergic reactions or how the body responds to these medicines

The dosage for these medicine depends on the above parameters. The dose for the adult is two tablets every 6 hours according to the severity of the pain.

The total dose for the patient should not exceed 4 grams.

Percocet has strengths of 5mg,7.5mg, or 10 mg given to the adults, not more than one tablet in one hour. 

The maximum dose should not exceed more than 4 grams.

Do not take this medicine without strict prescriptions given by the doctor. The intervals between the two doses should be the same without any disturbances. If the patient misses the dose, do not take two-dose at one time.


Do not take one extra dose of this patient, or this dose can cause severe body damage. Overdose can have a powerful effect on the brain receptors.
