What is Darvon?

Darvon contains an active ingredient of propoxyphene hydrochloride. The characteristics of Darvon are that it is odorless and has white crystalline. It is highly soluble in water.

It forms the most stable liquid dosage forms. The generic name of Darvon is Propoxyphene. Propoxyphene is a narcotic drug that relieves pain. The reactions of this drug are still unknown, but Propoxyphen increases pain tolerance, and it decreases discomfort. Propoxyphene can affect the brain. It can cause respiratory problems. 

The drug treats severe to mild pain and also reduces pain. Propoxyphene can cause sedation and depressant. Since 1957 the drug is available in pharmacies. Darvon may involve stimulation in the opioid receptors of the brain. Darvocet is a federally controlled drug.

Many fatal incidents are due to Darvon. There were many deaths or suicide, which has caused many experts into dilemma. Darvon is sedative, and it can affect the brain receptors. The deaths reported have a medical history of emotional disturbances. The patients also attempted suicide. 

Darvon can be eaten either with or without food. This drug has caused fatalities. Avoid taking Darvon if the patient has a medical history of attempting suicide. 

Darvon comes under the black box label. The black box label symbolizes that it has dangerous effects on the body. Overdose of this drug can be hazardous to the health and can even cause death.

How to take Darvon?

The initial hours of overdosage will have simple symptoms; however, the symptoms can be more severe after 72 hours or the next day.

What to avoid while using Darvon?

While taking Darvon, avoid consuming alcohol as it can be dangerous to your health. Avoid any hazardous activities like accidents or other hazardous activities that can cause accidents, falls, or injuries. 

Do not take medicine with the person who is already a drug addict. 

Do not give medicine to those who have similar symptoms to yours without prescriptions.

What drugs can interact with Darvon?
